I need to paint the exterior of a building. The material is T1-11 and it has been up for 1 year without any treatment. There is a bit of black mold on the siding that I plan on spraying with a bleach solution prior to paint.. How strong a bleach mixture is recommended?

The best way I have found is to put some in a shallow pan or just sprinkle some out onto some newspaper.

Wet your carwash brush and shake all the excess water away. You only want it wet enough to get the borax to stick to it and make a bit of a paste. Scrub it onto the surface and let it dry. When dry, brush or vacuum it off.

Bleach mixed at about 10% is very effective but it's better suited for hard surfaces like shower stalls. If you wet wood or drywall with the solution it really only kills at the surface but the water soaks in and gives the roots more moisture to live off of.

any commercial cleaning supply house will have mold agents , usually concentrated . mix it with water & spray with a garden sprayer as per instructions. we have used it several times and works like a charm.
