Been meaning to snap a few photos & finally remembered. Sorry they're from my Blackberry.

This is my Mom's garage - not sure when it was built, but later than the house ('50s maybe?). It was built to match the house exactly though. 4 car, but they have yard stuff on one side. The upstairs is the cool part. They've thought about converting it to living space or something (exercise room, pool room, etc.). There is already a bathroom on the lower floor and it has huge radiators throughout the garage - the original owner kept it heated in the winter. I assume from the house boiler since there isn't one in the garage.

The 'Door of Death' opener. This has to be the fastest opener in the world. It closes the door in under 5 seconds. I really need to shoot a video of it.

She's never really fixed the inside of the garage up or anything - just for cars & storage - but it could be really cool. I might buy her house at some point & one of my first things would be to fix up the garage.

You should have seen the guys that had to roof it - they were not happy...

Nice elevation on that. Woho, there's some pitch on that roof for sure. Have to call Spiderman Roof and Remodel.

That is the basis for a very nice "mom" cave. That said... guessing that the house is pretty comfortable so .... probably not going to happen.

Man no kidding on that roof pitch, you must get some snow there. The outside looks like a gingerbread house. Lot of potential for the inside.

That's a charming building. Wonder what the pitch is 18/12? Do you have a pic of the house? Neat! :)

That has to be one of the coolest looking garages ever. The door opener is...I don't know...I'm at a loss for words on that one:)

I laid out the garage and the pitch showing on the pic checks out to be 67 degrees which would be very close to 18/12. One thing about a pitch like that, when you get your roof jacks set up, you can roof standing up.

That's a slate roof, redo every 100-150 years or so, with that pitch maybe even longer

There are plenty of slate roofs in the UK from the Georgian period and quite a few even older. Georgian period started in the early 1700's so they are 300 years old and still going strong.

Like everyone else said, thats one cool looking garage.

I believe the architecture style is called " Edwardian" after the architect. Steep roofs with a very long side near the entru doors. Neat.

Here are a few more shots I snapped this weekend.

I was looking at the downstairs and the walls are all plywood with half round seam covers. Anyplace where there was a 'T', the half round was notched into a 'V' and then the leg was cut into a point to slip into the 'V'. Real craftsmanship.
