People often consider Mondays as harder days when you have to get back to work. I got lucky yesterday. Approximately at 21.30 I saw an ad for free toolboxes pick up. Not a great picture, but looked like bunch of them. Decided to drive, 35min, hoping to find something nice (with 3+ hour delay since the post)... Not much hope, but could not miss given 9 small boxes in picture. Got acquainted with a nice gentlemen who did not need tools and hated his fathers tools going to recycling center.
Well, without further delay: please review the pictures (chose best staff, there was plenty but a lot of staff needs significant cleaning and derusting)
Pictures 1-4: Snap On box, could not find any identifiers on it. 22.5"x8.5"x3.5"
Can anybody help me with the model and age? I suspect it's for ranches and . sockets. Any information is welcomed.
Picture 5 Set of tiny wrenches including Snap On DS2224 (any guess on the age? No. . year code), Williams Supperrench, Fleet, 2 Thorsens
Picture 6: Craftsman Vanadium (dark) and Indestro Super (age unclear)
Picture 7: United States Envelope Co scissors (not sure if vintage, but like the look).
One of the boxes was full of really rusty and stuck tools - found what appears to be Billings and Spencer monkey wrench, another one of similar model and couple of larger wrenches and pliers. Can not read the names - covered in rust. Will try Evaporust on them once I get it to see if can unstuck them - will start with Billings and Spencer type ones... I will post more tools after I clean and try to restore them assuming I succeed)
One of the tiny boxes is full of lathe tool bits - will probably post it later to get some opinion about potential sale (do not have the lathe...)
That was my story of lucky evening drive and pick up!
Share yours - one of my favorite part of this forum is those fairy-tale stories (like some lucky person last week who arrived some time prior to me to pick up Kennedy bottom and side boxes for free...)
