I think this thread is in the right place. Admin move if not..thanks.

Just got back from a trip to NorCal. Stopped at Old Town Shasta State Park (west of Redding) to grab a sandwich at Shorty's Eatery. Walked out and found this six foot tall drill press at the blacksmith shop next door. Obviously belt driven. and heavy duty. Continued on to Shasta Dam where this "nut" was being used as a door stop. Ten inches across the points and weighed about 30 pounds. Sorry about the sideways pic, tried to fix, but failed.

The drill press is a camelback.
That one appears to be a Barnes.
There's a piece that looks like a pickle fork that is missing from where you see that boss near the bottom. It was for changing the leather or canvas belt to change speeds.

If you're interested in one a

On Craigslist will find you one.
They are very good drill heads.
#2 taper I think.

They are very well made and completely usable.
$350 is you have to have it.
