Monster Planishing Hammer? Kent, WA

I was at an estate sale of industrial Boeing/Navy equipment and spotted this monster sitting on its side in the soft dirt. Everything is for sale and this would go for scrap value alone.

Looks like a planishing hammer, but I could be wrong. With that massive structure, it seems like it should be overbuilt for most uses, but for the cost of scrap metal, surely someone will want it?

There's tons of stuff there, mostly Boeing specific hardware, lots of Cushmans (yay!), industrial four wheel equipment carts, generators, heaters, and... well, lots of "What the hell did they buy THAT for?"

Oh, there were even a pair of DUKW's with a floating trailer, but those are sold.

If you're interested in the Seattle area, they are down on Kent east hill on 212th, just east of highway 167. They do have a backhoe and forklifts, so loading is easy if you bring your trailer.

That looks like a large squeeze riveter. The electrical lines on it would indicate heated dies, which would be used with heat treated rivets common to high performance aircraft. Coming from Boeing, it would make sense. It probably made B-29 parts!

That could indeed be the case. I didn't have much time to look at it. I'm betting you could mod it to be pretty much anything though.

They also had a very tall A frame gantry that was easily 16 feet tall. At first I mistook it for a swingset in the distance until got closer and realized those 'swings' were actually 2" diameter rope. Daaaaang!

That would be the sturdiest swingset ever... I bet you couldn't get the legs off the ground like I could on the rusty one we had

That's either a riveter or dimpler.
All of the pieces to make it work are gone.
I'm interested in it for the frame.

I will contact them tomorrow and see if I can make a deal.
