What did you do to the floor? Looks a little rough. That being said, I wish that I had one!

Edit: I'm from the area as well

The floor is power trowled.. It is VERY smooth with snow on your shoes you can ice skate in there! It is still dark looking not gray yet.

Not really in the imediate area, but from the Gallatin Gateway area by Bozeman. I've spent a lot of time over in your country though.

Neat seeing someone from Whitehall/ exit 249 I think.
I was thinking the foothills looked familiar.
My grandparents and beyond were from Cardwell/Whitehall.
Nice shop, going to insulate walls and ceiling ? It gets cold there.

Cold is right, -31 this morning North of Eureka. Any reason for going with the 3 2x6 instead of a 6x post? Just curious, I've got the holes drilled for my next phase of construction but I've always used 6x's. How far apart are your poles? Mine are 10 ft, double truss on each pole and then a single in the middle to split the difference. Looks good!!

The Guy I hired (Montana Post Frame of Townsend) just uses these triple laminated posts. He makes them him self. He said he feels they are stronger.
The poles are on 12 ft centers with double trusses on each post.

This is my first pole building so I am not by any reason an expert. I just know I most likely built it for 1/2 of a stick building cost.

Hi Donn, your shop looks great! Hope you got it closed up before all the snow hit. Good to see there are some MT folks on the GJ....

RMR&C Good to see you over here. Hows the weather up north. Been colder than you know what down here. Yeah the shop is in the dry but waiting on an electrician to get me some volts and amps so I can get it wired and insulated. Right now it is just a big refrigerator.
