No personal experience. However a couple days ago I had to go by Northern, and h.f. also (they're a couple miles apart ) and I looked at the boxes they had there. Not much difference in quality that I could see. Drawer configuration will be different of course. However the slides are the same, sheet metal thickness etc. I'm thinking about a larger box for myself. And I'm curious why you like the Northern box. I'll keep an eye on this thread, see what everyone else thinks. That Northern box is nice though. Find the right price, couldn't go wrong. I'm thinking h.f. with a add on side cabinet. Good luck

What little research I've done it seemed the montezuma box may be a little better quality. Montezuma makes the elite series which I have read good things about. This box is 36" high which would add to/match up to my work bench. It's been awhile since I looke at the h.f. Boxes. I am not a professional but would like a quality box without breaking the bank.
I have a smaller montezuma but really like it. Only way I'd swap it is for a matco or snap on big box. Mine is used professionally in and out all day and slides like new. Only thing I dont like are the casters but I leave it stationary for the most part anyway.

The montezuma boxes are good, but masterforce has boxes I like better (storage scheme). You can't go wrong with either...

Look at the difference in size and shipping weights. The Masterforce is 640# vs the Montezuma 320#. That says a lot right there. It would be nice if both sites gave the actual weight of the toolbox though.
The Masterforce is 4 inches deeper and almost 9 inches taller. But that alone isn't going to account for a 300+ pound weight difference.
These are two very different boxes, and it's obvious to me that the Masterforce is made of much heavier material. There's a reason the Masterforce is nearly twice the price and twice the weight of the Montezuma.
After looking at the specs, I think you would get a better quality box at HF.
The Masterforce is 4 inches deeper and almost 9 inches taller. But that alone isn't going to account for a 300+ pound weight difference.

Once you take out a bank of drawers as well, I could see it losing 300lbs.
I'm pretty sure the Masterforce and Montezuma boxes are made in the same factory, The old Masterforce boxes had many similarities with both Viper and Montezuma boxes, but I haven't compared the new ones in person. All of the Montezuma boxes I've seen in person have been very good quality, arguably some of the best imports out there (along with Viper and Masterforce).

300 pounds is half the weight of the entire cart. For the sake of argument, let's say you take out the entire left bank of drawers. That's 5 drawers.Once you take out a bank of drawers as well, I could see it losing 300lbs.
There is no way, even in your wildest dreams, that those drawers weigh 60 pounds each.
