Ive been looking to get a new tool box, i have a Kobalt 4 drawer roll around with a 6 drawer top box and its getting pretty crammed. I wanted to get a box big enough that i wouldn't have to expand for a while, but i wanted a hutch on top to work on parts/carbs. I found the Montezuma 72" with hutch and side cabinet at strictlytoolboxes.com, and its only about $5,000. Ive heard of them before, but no one i know has one or knows about them. I know a guy who has the same box but from Snap-On and he bought it for about $23,000. Is Montezuma a good brand to get? And is strictlytoolboxes.com a good place to order from?

The Montezuma boxes are real nice and the people who buy them consistently say the quality is better than they expected. They are VERY large. There are many people on this board who think the Extreme tool boxes are a better value. Snap On sets the standard. In many shops it is difficult to be taken seriously as a mechanic unless you own one of the big 3 boxes, (Snap On, Mac, Matco). For $5k you can buy tool boxes go and there is a myriad of large well built boxes in that price range. Harbor Freight has a massive 20 drawer 72 inch box that is identical to this one from Northern Tool: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200343086_200343086. Rumor has it that the 72 inch box is $1k cheaper at Harbor Freight.

Buying a Montezuma 72" from strictlytoolboxes was a very seamless and perfect experience for me. The box arrived in perfect condition and it is a monster.

FYI, I bought it based on your report here. I looked and looked and it was the best choice based on my requirements and budget. I couldn't be more pleased with the box and the service of vendor.

Glad to hear it. Service is one thing I was highly impressed with, from both Shannon and Vince. Good service from a company is pretty rare these days, and I appreciate it when I get it.

The 72 monty is an incredible value. Not much competition out there for affordable 30" deep 72" boxes. I don't think that you would be disappointed unless you really spend time in your buddy's box. In the end, you can't have a $20K+ box for 5K but I don't see many disappointed Montezuma owners.
