My slide-out work surface has never worked very well trying to open and close it. The feel of the latching mechanism is completely dead and it takes some jiggling and pulling on different areas of the handle to get it open.
I know the work surface in the Montezuma roll cab isn't that useful anyway since it makes the drawer below it unusable when it's open, but I'm a little frustrated because these boxes aren't all that cheap for an overseas-manufactured box.
I've been on the phone with people at strictlytoolboxes.com and Montezuma, and found out that Montezuma discontinued the models with the work surface because they had trouble with it.
Strictlytoolboxes.com seems to be receptive to warrantying the box, but I'd rather not deal with shipping it back if I don't have to. If you have had the same problem, was there anything you were able to do to improve it?
