Hi, I have an old Montgomery Ward air compressor model XER6408 and serial#06182H-936786. It's a 5hp, 220volt, twin cyl, 12 gallon tank. I need a crankshaft and one connecting rod, and gasket set for it. Does anyone know who made the compressor for it and where i can get parts for it. I bought it about 36-37 yrs ago.
Thanks
Dave's

Prob. Campbell - Hausfeld, but a new pump may be a better solution.

I have a MWards XER6465 2HP 20 GALLON 220V COMPRESSOR. i BOUGHT IT on05-24-79, for $179.00 .

I was just looking a the Owners Guide, it list other models, but not yours. It does not say who made the unit. Full parts blowup w/ numbers. (ie; crankshaft VT-6, TANK AR-67-26, GASKET SET VT-2102, ring set VT-2104)

Anyone know manufacturer by those #'s?

Interesting coincedence, but NO HELP TO YOU. Sorry.

I wonder if the pump is like the one I use. The only thing left of my system is the compressor, the motor, tank, and everything else has been replaced and/or upgraded.

For the record, started in a filling station in the 60s, moved to a wood working shop after when the station owner retired and closed, then I got it and started rebuilding. Big honkin' GE motor (220 volts) and doing some work I've had that thing running for as long as four hours continuous without a break! :bounce:

I can give you casting numbers off of the crank and connecting rod if that will do for now. Numbers on connecting rod are VT-1-B and on the crank are VT-6 , UF-1 , 332 - 2 and 672 Number on housing of pump V shaped cooling finns. Would this be an old Campbell Hausfeld VT series compressor?
Thanks Alot

You might try campbell hausefield. They made most of the compressors for sears and others back then. I have an old green color sears compressor and they had the parts to fix it.

Thanks!
