Thanks for the reply. Would you post photos of some of yours please. How did you come by them? Trunk tool kit? Bought? awarded?I don't have a clue how the Mopar branded tools were made available, but the ratchets and sockets I have are made by Bonney. Maybe the pliers were as well.
Yes, my thoughts too but cannot confirm. I am thinking that since Daimler started running the show perhaps the German influence has/had them providing a few basic tools as is de rigueur with most German cars. Although all of those I see are always identified with the maker's name as well as the car brand.I have a feeling these pliers are something like from a vehicle tool kit? Maybe viper or some other high end vehicle? The logo is fairly new... and no, its not from the "master tech award" series or trouble shooting award. Those logos are older.
Thanks BubbaBonney did sell slip-joint pliers, but as far as I can tell, they were mostly rebranded Crescent/CeeTee pliers, judging the by the handle hash pattern.
These don't have the classic Crescent/CeeTee pattern, but an angled cross-hatch one. That pattern, the general shape, narrow head, forging lines and the number on the handle all indicate that these are actually Utica pliers.
As far as origins go, it's hard to tell. Automakers would sometimes offer roadside/emergency tool kits as an option. I think they still do. That would be my first guess.
