JZ: while i love a good bench grinder I was actually talking about the Makita belt grinder that has the ability to get into tight corners.

speaking of bench grinders and your space issues. check out the vise grinder stand thread I started a few years ago to get some ideas and having a hitch mount on your bench might be a good option for your shop. here's my go to little bench grinder that I have on a stand and I usually just dolly it outside my garage like I did yesterday to clean up a few bolts with the wire wheel (no guard so it does spit wires pretty fast).

link to the vise grinder stands thread.

Nice set of tools, I should probably take some photos of mine too. I'm currently looking for some quality (European) tools for automotive repair and maintenance.

What tool companies you prefer? I see some Craftsman, is that your "favourite"?

At this moment a dont need any tool's but when something broken down or i realy need one. I think i'm go shoppind to IKH or Motonet. When My grandpa Pass away some years a go he left his tool's for me. Lots of Stanley and Bahco tool's. Craftsman is not so common but when i find one i'll buy It. Stanley fatmax is cool but name cost..

I give up for summertime and change winter tire to My car. ..and my wife's car also. Winter in South part of Finland is realy lame at this moment. Temperature is between +9C/-3C Day and night, firts picture is from this morning 08:00 -3C. I dont like snow that much but if i have to pick it woult be snow. Last spring i got new wheels to My Kia, i forget whole thing and my socket set for rim was wrong, well you have to improvise, you all know how It Works. I found normal 21mm socket and gently open them up. No damage!

JZ: planning a trip to SEATTLE anytime soon cause I think I might have 3 toolboxes full of Craftsman tools so i think i might have an extra 3/8 inch ratchet. just curious how is it that so many american made cars and tools are in the garages of our Finland members and Scandinavian members?

keep up the great work and looks like you are about done until you decide to make an addition or build another shed or shop on your property.

cheers

In my case it's quality and culture. There is nothing bad in European stuff but far as i know U.S brand whits are produse product on there inner markets are very proud what they are selling? I grow up 70 and 80, My dad and grand father are reasons why i like Stanley tool's and Johnny Cash. My older Brother was driving Chevrolet and this moment he has Jeep (offroad) and Chevrolet in daily car. I was working in 95-97 in big car salehouse as a plater, we repair car like Lada, Fiat and Lancia and i know what Bad quality is. Lada was strong and made for Finland but those were the days.. let me know If you have extra wrench, i'm intrested. Oh, that culture thing.. John Wayne, AC/DC, Kid Rock, Iron maiden, Batman and Star Wars.. and some more. :)

Hi Jyzze, here are some suggestions that I have followed since becoming a GJ member. First, photos of the workspace and storage really have helped me to see areas of my space that are too cluttered and don’t work as I would like them to. I see many things in your space that are taking prime real estate, but I bet aren’t getting used on a regular basis (football helmet?) you have lots of decorative items taking up wall space, but since your space is super small, I would select a display spot and rotate your collection in and out. I see many buckets on the floor. (Half empty paint or adhesive cans?) toss them out or donate after photographing the mix instructions. The goal for all consumable materials is use it up, or toss the remainder when your project is complete. Don’t purchase things on sale that you don’t have an immediate use for. Speaking of photographs, identify sentimental items in your space. Photograph them, save the photos to Microsoft word and write a description. You can then visit these memories without endlessly storing them but not using them.

On the fence about an item? Put it and others in a container and see if you need it within a year (write the date on the container) next year, re-evaluate the items. Maybe you can get rid of some things.

Put everything on easy to roll pallets, then when you wish to work, storage bins and other non work related stuff can be temporarily rolled outside. (I do this with my vintage car).

Yesterday I had my sons Honda Civic in our garage doing wrenching work. To get elbow room I moved 10 large items outside the door. After I was done., the stuff was moved back in. Easy, as everything was on wheels. Our dd was moved back in leaving just enough room to walk around the car, get in and out.

My wife is laughing really hard as I read these tips as I have a hard time being consistent with my own messy space. Let’s just say a work in progress.

Enjoying your posts!

GM: some great tips in your post about GETTING ORGANIZED in general. would you mind if I cut and pasted that post to my Organizing thread cause some of it could really help me?

I like your sig line and wondering if you have a garage thread if maybe you could put a link to it also in your sig line.

JZ; carry on you are doing great. Just saying I love the OLD STAR WARS and the new ones not so much and i've transferred some of my attention to the Pirate of the Caribbean movies, Harry Potter and the new Fantastic Beasts movies and Mission Impossible seems to have taken it to another level. nice to hear some of the well made in USA stuff made it to your side of the world. sadly the importers over here only import **** from Asia and Mexico based on profit and not quality cause I'm sure they can make a well made product too.

have a great weekend!!

Those drowers are made of office use, so i have to think adout what to but in there. I cut some yogamatt to keep tool's in order. Knipex is good prand, i think they last for ever in my use.

JYZZE: you are going to need to build a bigger shed if you start finding, buying and bringing home more old tools that is for certain so good luck with that.

Sometimes you can find good tires there. Winter tyres are quite expensive actually, so a couple of years old ones can be a good deal. I will probably change the winter tyres this weekend at least on the second car as we are driving to eastern Finland during fall break (next week).

Good luck with the house hunt! Make sure the garage is big enough

Hopefully you can find nice garag... I mean house.

I will also change winter tyres to one of our cars soon, because my work trips are very early in the morning or late at evening.

Yes, it's better not be in a hurry regarding the house. Hopefully you'll find one your looking for soon!

I like the look of the fiesta, must be a nice car to drive also!

Yes, it is nice car to drive! Well, engine is just 1,0 liter ecoboost, 125 horsepower. It's fun to drive after old diesel car.

Yesterday we went to My father-in-law place and i have some Time to spend on his garage.
Last summer we clean the whole garage, Make new floor, paint the wall's and the roof.
Plan was to make new handle to old chisel. Wood wasn't dry enough so i have to make new one..
It was fun to use lathe, i haven't use it since my school.
