Hi....

after the forum change , I only get 7 pages of "New Posts" , which may be less than 24 hours ,

If I am busy and do not look at the forum for a day , I do not see a way to catch up.

Maybe there is a way to do this that I have not noticed :)

5 days would be nice , but at least 3 days.....

Thanks

I have tried that too, and I only get 7 pages no matter what I do. I tried both the "new posts" from the drop-down on the home page, and also the "new posts" from the banner as was suggested. 7 pages:

OK... Making progress... This is sort of expensive to run... So, how many pages of search results do you guys need? I have at it set at 350 results now... which is about 12 pages.

Hi Ryan , do you have Stats on how many posts a day is average ?

It needs to be a little more than the average so if you are checking once a day you can catch up ,

This was also the problem on jalopy journal forum too , it just got overwhelming

Thanks for your forums

There's a lot of redundancy built into GJ, and multiple ways to catch up depending on user priorities and preferences, so grain of salt and all that....

First thing I do is go to Watched (the new Subscriptions). That shows me all new activity in only the threads I am Watching. I could use Preferences to use Alerts (the bell top right) to show me the same thing, but I find scrolling through my Watched lists to be handier.

To see if there are any interesting New Threads, I like to do that by going only to my favorite forums. I can scan a page or two and see all the new threads there.

For me, a running list, in descending chronological order, of ALL new posts, from ALL forums, including those I have no interest in, is too broad and undiscriminating. I see that you can apply Filters to New Posts so you can eliminate All Unread, and just see new posts if it's in Watched content, Threads in which you've participated, and Threads you've started, but that would essentially just be redundant to my first step, filtering everything but my Watched threads in the New Posts window, and again, they are not organized there by forum, they are organized only by time.

With the launch of the new GUI, I've actually been much more intrigued by user habits than I was before. Probably wear off again once everyone settles in.

It's going to vary. Just now, I'm getting about 36 hours which is a HUGE improvement over what it was.

Can it be coded for date/time range instead of total rows? Maybe an option for 24 hours and 48 hours?

Expensive in terms of CPU usage? I could be wrong but wouldn't think it's bandwidth issue as it's only pushing page at a time.

I do want to say thanks for all the tweaks you've done so far. It really helps the experience. I am very impressed with the page load time - it's really snappy.

No... All I can really do is set the number of results to return... So, it will vary...

I will keep it as is for a while. If you guys need more results, just bug me about me.
