More of the Wright stuff.

Ok so ive been up for like 28 hours straight, just got off work and feel like a zombie.. After ravaging a couple boxes courtesy of USPS im starting to feel better.

Here is the latest addition to my Wright collection, (2) Wright 3428 3/8 drive flex heads one dated 1963 and the other 1975. (1) 3/8 3426 dated 1973 and (1) 1/4" drive 2400 dated 1978. Its amazing how over the years there has been very few changes to there ratchet line, I have some newer models that are identical except stamping.

Nice stuff, those are the old Wright wrenches I used to have until someone stole my van with my tools, I really liked them.

I have a 3/4 and 19mm wrench in that style, both from different production dates. Nice solid wrenches, but I find the beam edges to be a bit on the sharp side.

LOL i had USPS, UPS and Fed EX in my drive at the same time today. Heres the breakdown of Goodness.

I picked up some Wright stuff via Ebay which included a 1 1/4", 1 1/8", 1", 13/16", 18MM, 17MM, 12MM and a 7MM Wrenches. All the Standard stuff is Wright Grip technology and the MM isnt. Also in the mix was a Near complete set of 3/8" Standard Crowfeet minus the 3/8 and a 15/16 (Richard!!!). Im fairly sure that 1 1/4 Wrench is costs more new that what i have in the whole lot 60 something bucks.

My second box today was from GJ member Back2class and i recieved another treasure a 53 dated 1/2 drive ratchet, Which is in really great shape for being 57 years old. The Chrome has ZERO flaking which in it self is a testimate of the quality of Wright Products Past and Present the discolorment on the shaft is only surface and comes off with my fingernail (looks like tape residue). The only slight damage is the selector switch which has some scratches probably from being laid down, slid etc but for its age is minimal and im proud to own it. He also included a little spring ID mic for measuring the inside of cylinders etc.. Thanks for the bonus.

The 3rd package was courtesy of FedEX and TY at Wright Corp. I had a couple 3/8 drive 1/8 hex drivers that had been broken and He quickly took care of the sitsuation. After spending numerous hours reading the catalog i did see how i Might have been able to order just the bits.. but then again they have changed there design a "bit" (LOL) over the years.

You can see by the pictures i have how things have changed. From Left to Right the First one is dated 1990 and has your typical allen held in place by friction alone. The second one is a 93 model and is similar to todays model but has a smaller shaft size. The Third and Fourth ones are the Newer ones that i received today and it is a bit bigger where it enters the socket. Regardless its a very common size for me and if i could have gotten the correct bits i would have gladly paid for them out of pocket because frankly they have paid for themselves manytimes. Just a little personal testimate on How Wright takes care of there customers.

I decided to venture into that 53 model ratchet just to see what the internals looked like. Not to mention i know we have some serious ratchet guru's lurking around here.. Cough... Bull.. Cough... Bull So here you go, Ive personally never seen anything like it, but then again im a somewhat of a ratchet rookie.

Oh No.. My wright catalog is littered with Red sharpie check marks. BTW when my Girl calls you wanting to buy the screwdriver set, try and sell here some more stuff, Its for my birthday and that was what i requested.

Id say its pretty much the common design of crowfeet, Reinforced tool contact area (thicker) and the actual crowfoot.
