Originally I wasn't going to put air filters on the bike, but changed my mind and decided to go for pods. Unfortunately, they interfered with the side covers, so, I put my thinking cap on and came up with a plan..
So, plan in head, I welded together an aluminium battery carrier, welding some tabs on the side of the carrier to which the new side panels would be bolted. I then had to weld a new support across the seat rails to support the rubber mounted carrier.
So, the panels fit much the same as before, except they finish at the the front of the battery carrier, allowing room for the pods.
Pretty well everything on the bike is hand made in my workshop. I do everything myself: Anodising, painting, mechanical, electrical, fabrication, welding polishing and so on.
