I've been a customer of the toolwarehouse for about 7 years and never the first problem; all orders arrived within 3 days and complete.

Last Friday, I placed an online order for 7 different items. A box arrived from them Wed. I opened the box and discovered only 3 items had shipped. On the shipping invoice was handwritten "Other items to be shipped from other location"

Today, I called their 800 number to status the shipment of the remaining 4 items. The conversation went like this:

TTWH: "Toolwarehouse"
Me: "Hello, I would like to status my order with you. I received a partial shipment on Wednesday with a note on the invoice saying the balance to be shipped from other location. Can you tell me if it has shipped and estimated arrival? The invoice number is XXXXXXXX"

TTWH "One moment please" After 1 minute: " No, it has not shipped, it is at our New York location; would you like us to ship it?":wtf:

ME: "Well..Yes, I have not cancelled the order and still would like to receive the items I ordered and paid for. Can you tell me if they are it stock"

TTWH: "Yes, it is showing items in stock; we will ship out today.

Me: Thanks, Good-bye"

WTF:wtf:; what kind of operation is it that holds the balance of your order that you have placed and questions if you still want it?

I guess their low prices are obtained at the expense of their poor operations side of the company.:spit:

I suspect, or would at least like to think, given your previous history of good prompt, service, that you caught them sort of in between receiving the items from their distributor and getting them shipped out to you. Then got a bonehead customer service person who would ask the dumb *** question you got. See how things go now before you write them off.

The reason they ask if you'd like it shipped, is probably because so many people cancel anything shown as backordered.

I think that's part of the "I want mine now!" society we live in today.

Note on shipping doc said " Items to be shipped from other location"
It did not say anything about being on backorder.

Anyway, to their credit, they emailed me the UPS tracking history and the balance was sent Friday....only after I called them and reminded them I ordered the items.:headscrat

You seem very trigger happy. Don't be to quick to jump the gun a cry bad service... Take it easy. You'll live longer.

I'm actually pretty laid back and level-headed; understand that people can make mistakes, etc. Just needed the tool items they did not send and then they gave me a bone-head response when I called. Oh yeah, the IR2135TIMAX I received was defective...I know its not their fault but still not my lucky week.:(

BTW; It is not uncommon for me to seek out the store manager after shopping and provide name of sales person that went out of their way to help me.

Now; where is my bottle of JD; gotta nurse myself back to good health...:lol_hitti

The last few orders I have placed with them have been like this, part of it comes from the warehouse in IL which I get the next day the rest has been coming out of TX which takes 2-3 days longer. I have never had any problem with them not sending things they had in stock & have not had to ask for this to happen. Was pulling the front axle of my car & needed a longer prybar so ordered a 36" Mayhew which was out of stock, next week re-ordered it and got a 42" from tooltopia just in case it was still out... I now have 2 long prybars.

A couple weeks ago I ordered some GP impact sockets for my dad. About 1 1/2 weeks had went by so I called to check on the order. I had my order confirmation emial with all the correct info and even the order number. The lady said they couldnt even find the order in their system and that I would have to re-order it.

No big deal? Bull $hit. They would not have sent my order unless I called them to remind them that I had ordered it? Get real...

Exactly. My first order with them I waited over a month before I had to remind them to ship it. At least they gave me a 10% discount on it.

The balance of my order arrived today...but noticed they charged me shipping when it should have been free. So, had to call them and get a credit for another one of their mistakes.

Looking for another on line source for tools; this will be last business I have with these clowns.
