More work light: High Lumen LED work lights as ceiling spots?

I was thinking I want some more work light in the garage. And I have one of these from home depot:

3500 lumens!
I'm thinking of mounting 4 of them upside down on the ceiling, as aimable / adjustable spotlights. You can adjust the angle and tilt easily with these.
Is this a bad idea? Is there something better in the super high lumen range?

It will get you some light I guess but the results will less than spectacular I'm sure...

It might work ok as some task lighting in ADDITION to normal lights. I've seen a lot of those led work lights, never been overly happy with the light output. The halogen work lights are way brighter. These do stay cool though which is nice.

BTW 3500 lumens is the same as most cheap 4' shop lights. Good quality "shop lights" will be brighter.

I should say, I already have the ceiling full with twenty 1300 lumen can lights. They nicely light the garage, but not quite enough for detail work with mid-age eyes. I prewired to add work spots but haven't put those in yet...

While you will get more light, these tend to be more "flood" than "spot" lights. I know there are a few threads here that the SnapOn (licensed to use the brand) work light found at Costco (sometimes less than $20 each) have been used in various ways.
I've got a couple of the Costco SnapOn's and while not the same as the Husky, I'm betting similar in their light output and distribution - they need to be close to the work in order to get the illumination for detailed work. If you want lights on the ceiling, I think you would do better with a LED "shop light" style (the Feit 4' light from Costco is a good option)
If you think most of the detail work will be done on a bench, then a good task light mounted to the bench would serve you well. Of course, these LED work lights aren't all that expensive, so you could try one and see if it gets you the results you desire.
