Morgan 140 Vise

Hello All,

I am new to this forum, I found it searching for info on a vise that was given to me. As you can see below it was in a barn and somewhat protected from the elements.

As you can see from the photos below, I am missing a few parts... The crucial one being the jaw from the dyamic side. I am having trouble finding replacements (ideally I would replace both sides). And the lock bolt and nut are not original, just a square nut and bolt. The collar set screw/pin is long gone but that should not be a big deal. Any ideas?

As far as restoration I am using the brass wire wheel and having some luck. Sand blasting is also in the cards if the wheel is not enough. Not sure I want to try electrolysis. I have not extracted the screws off of the jaw I do have yet...

I read that these are usually light blue- this one seems like it is a dark gray. Does that seem right?

That's a current model number, you can buy jaws for it. I bought a 150 a few years ago that came with brand new jaws along with the old ones.

They made these in both gray and blue, and surprisingly, parts are still available IIR.

Gray ones are earlier than the blue ones. They used both colors at Chicago.
