I want to put some feelers out. I bought this Morgan vise as part of a package deal. I dont really NEED it. I already have a 6" vise that is a little larger. That being said. This vise is in good condition. No hammer marks on the slide. No cracks I can find anywhere. Turns freely, no excessive play, the swivel locks down tight.
Now the bad, it does look like the someone welded new jaws in at some point. It does look like they did a good job from what I can see. The turn lock handles are bent but repairable. Also the main handle has been replaced. It has welded hex nut ends on it but they are nicely welded on.
The stand could use some attention. The welds need to be ground and some of the cuts are not clean.
If this vise doesnt sell as is I will strip it down and do a repaint and full polish of all the parts. If you want it painted to your liking (Seahawks / Harley davidson / John deere etc.) let me know and we can discuss the price increase. I have pictures of some of my other work to show what I can do.
I prefer local as the vise alone weighs 145lbs so shipping would be up to you if you want to pay.
