I purchased a Morgan Chicago 40 vise from an elderly gentleman, thinking that 1) I would help him out 2) that it would be a solid vise. When I got it home, I realized that the jaws (and the head) has been beaten to heck. What do I do? Where do I buy jaws for this vise? Or do I just junk it?

you can still buy jaw inserts from the Morgan vise company. They are still in business. I don't have the link to the website. I do know firsthand that if you call them and give the information about your vise, they will be able to tell you if the new jaws fit your old vise.

Mr. W. is right about that.
Do the existing jaw inserts still have good serrations? Do you want to replace them just because the tops are somewhat battered up or are they worn out?

Lots of guys repaint old vises and if the dents bother you, just clean the affected areas, spread on a thin layer of epoxy putty and when it’s cured, sand it smooth, prime and paint.

Another option is to fabricate some copper jaw covers and leave the vise alone except for cleaning and lubricating the moving parts.

The Milwaukee folks are good go. The price list I have is around 65ish dollars. Just email them and they will ask you a few questions about your vise.
