Morgan Chicago Vise - Color?

Anyone know the original factory color of Morgan Chicago vises?

I've seen the later Milwaukee versions in blue but what about the early Chicago versions?

I think mine might have originally been black. There are no signs of any blue but there's some slight signs of red which could be factory primer or maybe from being repainted.

Mine seems to have a different marking.

"Morgan Vise Co. Chicago" with the model number horizontal vs vertical.

I think I'll go with RO Hammered black which is more like a very dark grey.

i'd bet it is blue, but of the ones i own and have owned some have so many layers of paint and some have none. here are a few just to put a little color in your thread.

by the way thanks for starting the thread on the "naked vise" because i have notes all over the place on that and would love to just pull up your thread. i'll add any that i have that have not been discussed as i find them.

the photo showing the 2 morgan 30's, 1's blue and 1 black to right of blue 1. its original. i got a original black morgan 60 that i forgot i had.
