Does anyone have or know where to find info on Morgan vises? Google didn't lead to much help.

My father has a pretty old (i.e. rusted and corroded) Morgan vise. All it says is "Morgan" "Chicago" and "35". It's a machinish vise by the way.

I'm debating if I want to go through the trouble of restoring it back to a usable state. Sorry, but no pics until maybe next week when I visit my parents again.

As long as it's not heavily pitted by rust then I would restore it.

It definitely strongly resembles the non-swiveling machinist vise.

I'm guessing product # 1103500 which is 35 lbs and of similar dimensions to what I recall. I distinctly remember the curvature of the jaw looking that funky.

Is there any way to price it or find out other facts about its origin? There was no other identifying info anywhere else that I could see.

I'll try to "borrow" it from my father next week. Parts of the vise are heavily corroded. It doesn't help that the vise spent most of the last two decades in my parents' basement, under a table in the sewer/electic/water meter room.

I believe my uncle lent it to my father, but not sure. I'll see what I can do, and hopefully I can make it pretty and useful again. All I have now are $20 Chinese-made Wiltons, so a quality US-made vise would be great to have.

I am looking for a tapered pin that locks the swiveling rear jaw on a #335 Morgan vise. Milwaukee tool & Eqipment does not have it. I was able to get swivel base locking nut and stud and new jaws from them. Thanks.
