I've had this Morgan woodworking vise sitting around for awhile now. I finally got around to cleaning it up and ready to pass it on to somebody else for another 80 years or so of service!
Amazingly, you can still get some parts and info from the Milwaukee Tool & Equipment Co.
I spoke with one of their reps and he told me the Chicago city mark would date somewhere between 1929-1942...cool!
It's in really good shape and works perfectly. The jaws are 10" wide- 4" tall, opens to 12", approx. 35 pounds. There's not much other info on the web for this size vise, so I'm not really sure where to start the asking price?? :dunno:
I was thinking $75... any input would be much appreciated.

In general, woodworking vises don't seem to be worth much money. I'd be surprised if it would bring more than $50.

You could search the classifieds over at owwm.org and see if you can find anything similar.
Just don't post over there and ask "What's it worth". They seriously frown on that over there.

Just an FYI, if you have one of these vises sitting around

I had two definite "takers" within 6 hours of posting on CL...sold for $75

I guess you never know. The guy had one just like it already in his shop and had been looking for a long time for another one. :dunno:

That's surprising. Where are you located? I see them all the time on CL here.. maybe I should buy a bunch and send them to you to sell :)
