Morris Minor Garage.

I went to the official opening of this little place today as part of two Car Clubs I belong to. Castlemaine Rods Inc and the other club Castlemaine Historic Vehicle Club. I took my International 4x4 truck as it was so wet and yes I got bogged in the mud (so did many others).

No photos as yet but this is the website with a few photos. The Pink / Mauve Morris is a restored Millionth model.

The front has been given a bit of an Art Deco look and has what I call character.

Interesting to note many on H Club permits. Also many modified with Nissan / Datsun running gear.

I doubt this Austin was stock either and sure looked nice. A30 or A40 ? I am not 100% sure.

For such a cold and wet day many Morris clubs arrived at the location (North Harcourt just North of Castlemaine or South of Bendigo) from Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo.
The band music was also good and they cam from Bundoora (part of Melbourne).

Yes I have to agree it is a cool place. Plenty of Character is what I call it.
Not sure if I am correct or not but I think only Australia and New Zealand got the little Morris Utes. They as well as the vans make for great projects as they can be such hot little cars.

Thanks , I have just been corrected on that with more detail being the ute / pickup tubs we got in the southern hemisphere are a little different to those in the UK.

Only 350 of them made, Lilac (had to look up the correct color name ) Millionth Morris, they have 1,000,000 as a badge on the back to identify them as different to the Morris 1000 standard model. The Millionth Morris would be a rare car now.
