Morton Prices?

I have been getting quotes on a 34' x 72' x 16' pole barn.
Morton is 28% higher than the highest of my other quotes.

What other Mfg's are considered comparable?

Is this typical and is the quality that much higher?

I used Cleary on my last building. Their customer service was great, craftsmanship was ok...but anything I complained about they fixed.

If you have any building knowledge at all, check them on stuff. I found out after the fact, that the walls were not plumb. The building is fairly square just not perfect. I think the top of the laminated beams were out about a 1/2" to 5/8" at the top.

I have heard of Morton being high, they build a nice building though. My cousins was built by Cleary, it also is very nice.

Compare apples to apples. The Clearys I have seen have the posts and trusses set on 8 - 9'
centers compared to 7.5' centers for Mortons. Morton supposedly has the best warranty in
the business and can build anything you can imagine. That being said, there are many builders who can build as nice or nicer buildings for the same or less money, but you are in
a sense, buying the Morton name.

Where in Va are you? I have a buddy that will build you a really nice building and he is very reasonable and he does a good job. He's a private contractor and pole barns are about all he does. He builds everything from small wood sheds to great big ol' horse show arenas 100'x100'. He helped me out a lot when I built mine. I didn't get him to do my building because I didn't have the money to do it all at once. He builds mostly in central VA but I have known him to build in other parts of VA too, I guess it just depends on what it is you want. He will work with you to give you what you want in a building and has done just about everything. He's not a kit builder but will build you anything you want to what ever stage you want at.

No I don't work for him or get any thing out of it when I throw out a plug for him. I just know he is a good man that is just trying to make a living while not trying to rob anybody in the process. PM me if you want his number and I'll get it for you.
