We use all varieties of Uvex at work, I haven't had any fitment issues with any of them.
I did however run into a model of wrap-arounds that really screwed with my eyes.

I was given a pair of Oakley ones with replaceable lenses, without a doubt the best pair i have ever worn.

I've got some Bushnell ones that a friend picked up a couple years ago @ $5/each... Great fitting glasses. The ones I have are the two-lens model.

I have a lot of safety glasses. But I reach for this more often:

Sperian Protection S8500 Bionic Face Shield

Less than twenty bucks, and you'll never have to wonder how that sharp little piece of metal got around the edges of your safety glasses again.

Jack, do you have problems with that mask fogging up? If not, I think I am going to pick one up.

Looks good that last one! Yeah, I caught a metal splinter in my eye, near the pupil for standing at my bench looking down at my workpiece from underneath my safety glasses. Face mask it is!

I haven't had any issues with it fogging up -- but keep in mind I live in a pretty warm climate. The nice thing about it is the way it flips up and out of the way -- but is right there on your head when you need it.

This is a goofy picture, but it shows how I can wear both the face mask and ear protection.

I've heard of a thread on a porsche forum, where as a tribute to you they all posed alike for a photo in front of their porsche. How about we all put on our ear protection and welding helmet/face mask and pose Jack like?? :bounce:

I would agree with Jack that a full face shield is safer AND more comfortable than glasses. I have Uvex glasses at all my machines but none are really comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I think the headband relieves a lot of the pressure and is easy to flip up. The optics of a full face may not be as good as glasses in some areas but you can also wear readers with a full shield, important when you get older!

As far as that goes, it's not a bad idea to wear safety glasses along with the face shield (or welding mask.) Sparks and things can bounce in from the sides and still get you.

I'd recommend finding a place that sells safety glasses and trying them on to see how they fit. It's kind of like buying a motorcycle helmet, you really have to put them on and wear them for a while to know if they'll work with the shape of your head. I got some from a local welding shop that are quite comfortable, I think they're Uvex brand.

Day in day out I use face shields in my job. Ive used saftey glasses but faceshields seem to fit better and provide more protection. For me they also attach to my hardhat so thats a plus.

I dont know for you whats best.

This one has proved itself overtime:
Milwaukee 49-17-2400 MK2400 Safety Glasses Clear Hard Coat
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000F6WVZQ/?tag=atomicindus08-20

definitely feels a cut above those plastic safety glasses. feels almost as good as regular prescription frames.
going strong almost a year now, it's hard coat so you won't end up with scratches the first time you wipe them off. plus they are optically corrected, so you won't get that 'in a dream' effect, bumping into open drawers...

it usually sells for 9.95 on amazon, and from time to time it gets eligible for free shipping...

I had the same problem with headaches from fit issues, along with glare from the lenses until I switched to a pair of M-frame Oakleys. Not exactly cheap, but I find that I actually wear the Oakleys, and the lenses last a lot longer until they are scratched beyond usability. When the lenses are scratched, another set of clear lenses is about $40 or so to replace. I used to have to replace cheap glasses about every two weeks, now I buy 2-3 lenses a year, and a set of replacement rubber side pieces once a year.

I like these Harley Davidson 500 series glasses. They wrap around far enough that you don't need the sideshields. Very comfortable on the face. Prices vary though as the ones I have I paid $14.95 but I have seen them as high as $21.95
