I remember a cigarette joke from the 1950s. The young female is reported to have said, "I have tried them all and I prefer Camels."
I have tried more than a few brands and I prefer Red Wing boots.
I heard one attesting to the virility of Arab men. They will satisfy all their wives ******** and have a Camel afterwards.

I picked up a pair of Wolverine in 8M with steel toes, good boots but all boot I wear hurt my foot because I can't keep them from touching the outside edge of my little toe(bunion)?

Who knows?
Thorogood wedge soles
My first pair of 8" Mocc toed Thorogood's had the regular sole with a heel. They're nice, but with flat feet they do tend to make them hurt a bit.

I just picked up a second pair on Wednesday with the wedge sole and am convinced I am walking on a pillow. No more pain!

Started with Carolina loggers for the first 5 years of my adult life, then 20 or so years of Carolina 3510's, 6" boot with a short heel. Carolina moved production to China, then discontinued the boot altogether. . .leading me to discontinue my patronage of Carolina Boots.
Got my first pair of Red Wing 2245's last spring. Absolutely love them. Leather, rubber, and steel toes. Nothing more. Nothing less. Only regret is not finding them sooner.

I am pretty picky on boots/shoes, I really like these for causal wear.

I have pretty messed up feet. The first time I decided to get custom boots was a complete let down that I’m still kinda pissed about(Nicks), the second time was life changing (JK Boots). Worth every penny.

I have incredibly high arches, and I have tried every kind of boots and inserts I could find. I finally found Merrel boots. They are incredibly comfortable. Look into them.

I own 5 pairs of Redwings and you might think that would bias me toward them but I think it actually gives me a unique perspective. I have some that are more comfortable than others and while the uppers and the last probably have some impact on "comfort", the sole and the insole really are what it comes down to when you're talking about all day standing comfort.

Insoles are pretty easy but you do have to pay attention. Some boots come with arch support built in and have fairly thin, fairly flat Insoles. You don't want to put an insole with a lot structure in a boot that already has a lot of support/structure built in. Rather, you might consider a replacement insole that has some more cushion but not so much structure.

Some boots come "insole ready". In other words, they don't have a well-defined arch built in and almost require an insole. A lot of work boots are like this. These will accomodate an insole with more structure (like superfeet). That said, check the different types of superfeet. Some are pretty stiff and don't offer a lof of additional cushion.

Anyway, the other thing to consider is the sole. I rejected "wedge soles" for a long time, admittedly for a esthetic reasons. But once I finally broke down and bought a pair, I realized what I was missing. For standing on concrete, there really isn't anything better. An EVA midsole "boot" might feel more comfy at first but will break down quickly and won't last long. The closest way to get that comfort with a welted boot is a wedge sole with a softish insole.

The Redwings I have use the Vibram Christy sole but there are others and I'm sure they are comparable.

When you consider these elements, brand probably doesn't matter much as long as they're well enough made to last.

I'm currently starting with my third pair of Red Wing boots. They have all been the 2245E style; steel toe, above ankle boot. Each pair has lasted me at least 10-15 years of use around the house and my garage. I've found them to fit my feet very well and are comfortable. I can usually wear them through one or two resolings before the upper starts breaking down.

My only issue is that I have fairly narrow foot and these boots are somewhat wide. In the past I've used over the counter foot beds to lift my foot enough to allow me to snug the laces. This time I bought the Red Wing Copperguard RW 400 after standing on the 'foot machine' at the Red Wing store and they feel really great. I was not able to find them on the Red Wing site.

I change boots depending on what I’m doing - for dirt work, it’s a Wellington all the way. Current set is Caterpillar Revolvers. Cheap and effective for boots that I don’t really expect a year out of.

For civil/concrete/paved areas, I’ve got a pair of Iron Age “Reinforcer” wedge soles, and they’re the cat’s ***. Lots of cushion and have held up really well.

My current Redwings are 3-4 years old, I have completely worn into the inner portion of the heel.

GF insists I buy a new pair just to throw in the closet as when you work in a plant, as long the main body and toe is still in physically visible good shape, why fix what’s not broken?

Anyone else have the wedge soles start sucking up water once they wear thru the thin outer layer? I love my Danner Bull runs but now I can't wear them outside cause any moisture on the ground seeps up into the insole.

There are a lot of work boots available on the market but if you want comfort for a long day so you need pull-on boots. In pull on work boots, you need to try Ariat, Wolverine, and Dr. Martens's work boots. I hope those boots will fulfill your requirements.

The most overrated boots on this forum by a mile. I really wanted to like them. The leather felt nice and the construction is solid but they plain hurt my feet. They also have the cheapest laces I have ever seen in a U.S. made boot.

James
I couldnt disagree more. I have a plantar fibroma, for those that dont know thats a cyst in the ball of your foot. Think walking around with a stone inside your shoe all day. I tried sneakers (many kinds), Wolverine boots and a couple different brands. Only boots that I find comfortable are Thorogood Wedge Soles. I would recommend to anyone.

However I realize footwear preference is personal. I would say that you generally get what you pay for.

I agree with the comfort of pull-on boots. If you're standing on concrete operating machinery or something similar and don't need the support that laces provide, it's a great option.

I have the Redwing Classic Chelsea and Weekender Chelsea. The weekender is very comfy but not a real work boot. The classic chelsea with the Christy sole is a real boot, it's just a pull on. I have several other pairs of lace up redwings as well for comparison.

My feet hurt a lot due to the concrete floor at my current work place. They get very sore and swollen after a days work. Never had this issue in previous shops.

I am after the most comfortable safety cap work boot in existence. I don’t care what it costs.

Does anyone know where to find a work boot that is comfortable all day everyday?
37 years as a Mechanic, currently working 12hr shifts outdoors 🙂

I've tried a lot of fricking safety boots (we call them "steelies" in England BTW)

My current pair of UVEX (I think they might be German) are awesome after 2 years of hard service, Went a full size up though and added thermal insoles.

Don't mess with Goretex or any of that bullsh*t, keep them polished/waxed up and they keep me dry

I know that I am in the minority having narrow feet - (a/b) width. My feet swim around inside standard D width boots and if I have to put in an insole to fill it up, it never fits comfortably and the shoe ends up in the trash.

I have been wearing B.A. Mason boots for years as a couple of styles (very few) have narrow widths, and are ok for my needs, but I would like to try an American made pair.

Any suggestions? Most manufacturers don't bother with narrow widths. I've looked at the major players and come away empty handed.

I like my broken in Red Wing 1907s but they are more like chuck taylors than actual boots.

The most comfortable boots in my opinion are the ones with cemented soles, rubber outsole like Wolverine Durashock as an example. I don't buy them because they aren't as durable as welted boots but I can't deny they are more comfortable.

Do you find these boots comfortable? I have a pair and don’t find them particularly comfy. Even with cushion insoles, they still leave me wondering every time, do I really need the boots or can I get by with sneakers.

I really wish I could find a pair of comfortable work boots. I need support and cushion. I don’t wear boots for a living anymore but am 6’3 and am 215lbs so after a day of wearing these current boots my back is tight and if I have been squatting with these boots, the bottoms of my feet are tender.

I totally understand getting that the cemented soles. I know everyone likes the idea of resoling their welted boots but in my experience, by the time I have worn out the soles, the leather upper is torn or damaged and isn’t able to be resoled.

I did just order 3 pairs of boots off the jungle river. A pair of thorogoods and A pair of wolverines and some carhartt boots. I will just try them and see which pair feels most comfortable in the house.

I do find them pretty comfy - just goes to show that footwear is very personal.

Absolutely. I live near the factory and I desperately want to like them. They are quality made and I have had probably 7 pairs of danners. I have never had any issues with their quality. I just wanted this particular pair to work as they were billed as being really comfy and I really was hoping I had found a solution. I understand that boots are not running shoes but I just thought these would be more comfortable than they are.

Well, I tried on the thorogood boots. Their quality of craftsmanship is fantastic and the leather was very supple. I can understand why folks like them. They unfortunately felt almost exactly like my Danner bull run boots I have now. The sole looks pretty much exactly the same as well. I am returning them and am narrowing down my choices. I have a pair of wolverines, a pair of carhartts and also another pair of danners that I have had a bunch of pairs of - the usmc desert rat. Hopefully should have a final decision tomorrow!

I had the same problem once: I had just started a new job and realized that my work boots didn't fit at all. After each work day, when I took my shoes off, my feet looked insanely swollen, with blisters and sores. That's when I realized that I urgently needed to change my work boots for new ones. A guy at work told me this was a very common problem and recommended a website - Canada's best source for work boots. I decided to trust him and ordered one pair. I can tell you it was the best solution. So if you have the same problem, I recommend you give it a try.

Superfeet green insoles have been a godsend, I always thought some shoes hurt after a few hrs now I can wear shoes all day everyday.

Most importantly as some people have already said. But it depends on what your feet are like; low/high arch, tendency to walk more on the ball of your foot, wide, etc.

And you’re going to have to try the boots on to find out, one size does not fit all, and boots especially took me a few tries. Make sure you get measured on a brannock scale too, a lot of people are wearing shoes/boots that are the wrong size.

Good luck!
My feet also hurt. the green superfeet did the trick. they are in all my shoes

I've owned several pairs of Danner and the USMC/RAT are by far my favorite.

I ended up with the carhartt boots. They felt the most comfortable and had the added ankle protection that the desert rat boots didn’t have. I really liked the wolverines as well but the crazy wedge shaped/uneven insole made me worry if the boot insole wore out that I may not be able to get a replacement. I have a ton of carhartt clothes I like so hopefully these will live up to the challenge. I am not super excited about the coo but that’s my only gripe so far

I'm sure they have been mentioned before, but my vote goes to Redback boots.
I just started wearing mine again after about 3 years of them rarely being touched. I even had to clean off the dust.
The new job requires all black shoes or boots (preferably they can be polished).

I'm a huge fan of the slip on style. It's quicker and easier, and a back injury about 7 years ago has made tying any shoes difficult/painful for me. My normal every day shoes for several months now have been a pair of slip on Sketchers. They have held up surprisingly well and I will definitely be buying more. Before that, for years I used to wear a pair of DC skate shoes that I could leave tied and just slip on (only having to tie them again every few months and buy a new pair once a year).

I bought them in April and have been wearing them to work every day since then, and I'm incredibly impressed. These are the most comfortable shoes. I'm going to buy another pair to keep for the future - before the price goes up. First and foremost, for those who are unfamiliar with comfortable work boots, and who are worried about where we can get information.

I will give you some information.

I was searching the internet to find comfortable work boots.
I was looking for a website that would buy and real review work boots, and tell me about work boots. After a lot of searching I saw a review of Spy Boots and I was amazed. Spy Boots will tell you why these shoes are the best and most comfortable for you. After this verification, it will provide you more information about different items and their features.

To protect you, spy boots are committed to providing you with highly accurate and reliable information that will help you purchase the perfect pair of work shoes.

After verifying product reviews, Spy Boots will give you more information about different products and their features. At the end of the day, spy bots are telling you one thing: We want your satisfaction. Your Safety That's why we're committed to providing you with the most accurate and reliable information that will help you purchase the perfect pair of work shoes.
You must see the spy boots.

I hope you are as satisfied as I am.

I read reviews of spy boots, the good stuff in them and I thought these boots were perfect for me and then I bought these shoes.

This is my second pair of moc tow wedge boots by Carolina CA7002, all i can say is they are super comfortable! I put my boots on at 730am and they don’t come off till midnight, they get a lot of use and these are the most comfortable to date. I’m sure other brands are similar but the Carolinas happen to also fit perfect.
