Most efficient set of wrench sizes

I want to give my little sister a set of tools without it being unnecessarily heavy. I know that some metric and SAE sizes can be interchanged, but want a complete list

This chart is useful, it very plainly tells you where the wrench sizes are quote "close enough", and the actual difference in thousandths of an inch.

Are you trying to give her a small, light set that will work on both SAE & metric fasteners? What kind of stuff does she work on?

6-24mm covers ninety five percent of modern car bolts. Yes ford trucks and many one tons have larger fasteners on them but For a start that will do almost everything.

What is she working on? Just a homeowner? The Craftsman sets are hard to beat for the occasional user imo.

I'm assuming household work doesn't involve a lot of hex fasteners, and none under much torque. Would a Knipex Pliers Wrench work better?

Could be used on hex bolts that have enough clearance around them, plus plumbing fittings. I carry a pair in my "household" box and have no wrenches.
