So far ~$40 for my Proton Pro. Really handy small pocket light. ~100 Lumens for around 2 hours on a single lithium AA. Completely water proof, full lifetime replacement plan [it breaks they give you a new one no questions asked]. For $40 its been great. Honestly the selling point with me was the red LED for astronomy and its nice both LEDs are compeltely variable. Had it for a bit over a year and its great, highly recommended.

One light i cant recommend are those crummy "200" Lumen Nebo lights that popped up everywhere and go for about $25. They use too many batteries, die quickly, and i've had 2 that have had trashed contacts. Fine for the drawer at home but not for an every day light. I will say the magnet on the back is a great idea but executed terribly since it just barely holds the flashlights weight. A light breeze will knock it off.

I spent $120 on 4 SCC P7 bulbs that I stuck into my maglite. Light output was damn impressive..way more than I ever needed so I dismantled it.

If I had to buy one now, I wouldn't want to spend more than $30 on a basic flashlight.

id suggest the Streamlight Stinger i used it overseas in IRAQ and was a lifesaver ! Very bright and held up to years worth of desert abuse.
