Mother Earth Folding Workbench...Neat Design

I ran across this yesterday looking for a diy plywood cutting table. I thought it was a neat idea and was from the 1980's Mother Earth magazine. I thought others here might have a similar interest or might be able to use it in their shop. I think you could even use it as a dual purpose folding assembly table or maybe beef it up and use it as a workbench. Either way I just wanted to pass it along as I had never seen something like this before.

It's an interesting idea, and I think it would work OK for small assembly projects, soldering projects, etc. I am not so sure it would work as well for projects where pounding is required though.

Neat idea. Seems like it takes up a lot of space when "open". I would have to roll the car out of the garage to use it. I realize it's more for woodworking than garage stuff. The guy in the picture has lousy taste in cars.

My garage workbench is very limited on space, and I have been thinking about a wall mounted folding work surface similar to this one.

In my garage I used the "Quick Bench" fold out table found on amazon. it is 20x40 and holds 500lbs. Made from solid oak. Great addition for when I need an extra table top.
