Seriously woman, why you playin' me like this?

Really though, how many of you guys seem to have weather that is totally unwilling to cooperate with your garage plans?

My goal during my month vacation was to get my barn torn down, get the lot prepped and cement work done and try to have the basic framing and sheeting done. I almost gave up on my goal last weekend after not having any luck finding somebody to do my concrete work. All hope was renewed after some favours were called in and a guy was lined up to start Wednesday. Things started sooner than planned, he contacted me Monday for some money up front so he could buy the rebar and start the next day with the hopes of pouring on Wednesday. Tuesday morning was beautiful, we started bright and early, and just as we were making good progress a nasty spring storm rolls in out of nowhere and dampens my day in more ways than one. We get going again Wednesday, and tentatively booked the redi-mix company for Thursday morning. The forcast was showing that it was supposed to cool off and drizzle a bit later in the day, snow a bit overnight and then warm up first thing and be a decent day on Thursday. I continued watching the forcast with my fingers crossed, but it seemed to worsen by the hour. By late Wednesday I had the redi-mix called off, and we decided to hold off on doing the rebar. Thursday was pretty lousy, so it was good that we called the redi-mix off. We managed to get the rebar in just before snow started falling. We decided to book redi-mix for today (Saturday) in hopes that whatever snow would fall could be melted by then. We got about 3" overnight, most of it did melt Friday, and the forcast for today was good enough to pour the cement. We decided to shoot for 7am. I woke up at 6am hoping to see a beautiful day. Instead it was looking pretty dreary. My contractor stopped in for a bit around 8am, said he told the redi-mix we would wait and see what happens and let them know by 9am. By 8:30am there is snow falling (so much for that 10% P.O.P.). We decided to play it safe and wait until we have more favourable conditions. Now it is almost 10am.....the clouds are starting to break and it looks like it could be a nice day. Dammnit anyways!

Better safe than sorry I guess. This lousy weather has already managed to diminish any chance I had of getting anything built structurally before my holidays are over. All I can say is I sure hope this is the end of it, because if the trend continues I will need a room with padded walls, not a garage.

You live too far North of the Equator to have good weather in May... You should have planed it for the first week of July, so you would have 4 good weeks of summer before Fall started on August 1st. :lol_hitti
