I have a buglar alarm (actually two of them) in my shop plus a motion activated light. Actually what I would like to find is a motion activated light with a alarm. Any one know who makes them or how could I wire my present light and add a alarm. I know that it would be no problem to just wire a alarm into it but how would you wire it so that when you turn the light on the alarm would not sound, when exiting the bulding. But would reset after the light goes off the first time, and arm the alarm?.

I'm no alarm guy and I don't think you could do what you want easily. If you already have a seperate alarm, your panel may have a set of hard contacts that could turn a light or some other device on, if the alarm system detects an intrusion. You would probably need a second fixture, one dedicated to the alarm system and one for everyday use.
I'm planning on rigging up a simple alarm with a LOUD interior horn and a flashing strobe inside the garage that's triggered by a motion sensor. It will be wired through a time delay on and off relay. I figure if it draws attention to the garage, whoever breaks in, won't stay for long. The devices will be in places that are hard to reach easily and my panel will be "hidden".

These things either put power on a bulb or they don't. You're going to need a secondary circuit to have some sort of secondary function. You could wire some sort of intercept circuit through the output of the motion light to a switch that you could enable for the alarm...but still - pretty clunky.

That's the way one of my alarms work. It protects the area around my tool box. I have a siren wired to it and a strobe light and a phone dialer hooked to it. I have a motion activated inside security light that will will pick you up and come almost any where in my shop and was trying to figure a way to hook a horn or siren to it but when I turn it on to exit the bulding the light stays on for about a minute so dont want a horn blareing during that time. So far the only way I can do it have a seperate switch with the alarm hooked to it and turn it on after the light goes off.
Finally found what I wanted. Menards has them for around $120. Has a security light and 3 messages to choose from. "warning you are trespassing" "dog barking" and "you are being photographed". Wish it had one of a AR15 being fired, with someone screaming, and saying "make my day" It also has a camera built in.

You could use a contact closure if your alarm system supports that. Using a light sensor/photo cell pointed at your motion light might be a cheap input to the system.
