Any of them should work. If you are upgrading the switch, why not upgrade the light too and lose the flourescent bulbs?

Yeah any should work. How old is the building? Proximity switches require a ground or common.

I've installed two of the Lutron Maestro switches; one in the garage and one in the mud/laundry room. Easy install and easy to program. I've had them for over a year with no issues. Both are controlling fluorescent fixtures but I plan to replace them with LEDs in the near future.

I've done two of the Leviton Decoras and they have been great. Only issue is when I installed LEDs. One of them seem to trigger on it's own now and then. Leviton CS says that can happen with an LED and they have a shunt that can be wired in to fix it. It's a closet light and I dont worry about it.

I've got a Lutron Maestro in the "cat closet" I'm happy with. It just turns on an exhaust fan, but like other's have said it should run just about anything that's within the amperage rating. I've got it mounted 8" off the floor to pick up a cat entering through the cat door, and it's sensitive enough that just sticking the tips of my toes through the door sets it off.
