So, this guy comes around a couple of months ago with a contest for a free epoxy floor.

I registered for the floor, after he promised me I would not be subjected to SPAM. Now I'm getting SPECIAL OFFERS via email from Amazing Garage Floors (Troy Bengford) offering me FREE access to a lifetime membership to an excellent private label rights site.

This is complete BS, it smells like a pyramid scheme to me.

I noticed that the Epoxy Floor Guy hasn't been around much since his "contest" ended.....

Just wondering who else is getting this SPAM from our friend Troy?????

I've gotten the same e-mails too from that guy. Just got one this morning.

I removed myself from the list before and tried again, but it says I'm already removed. Don't know what the deal is .

Here's the e-mail I got:

Hi Scott,

If you're still struggling to make money with your online business,
this may be the most important email you ever read.

One of the biggest complaints I hear from new Internet Marketers
is that they've tried everything to promote other people's products
but don't have a dime to show for it.

If this sounds like you, there is a solution...

Instead of spending your time promoting someone else's products
and making THEM rich - start promoting your own products.

Now you can have your own ebook, special report or audio product
ready for sale within hours...

And best of all, it won't cost you a dime!

Get ready to be amazed...

Sincerely,

Troy Bengford

If he is doing that for real AND he wont take you off the list, ban him immediately but if he takes you off the list, give him a break.

But why did you not use a throw away Hotmail account to register ?

I disagree.

I shouldn't have to use a throw away address for something that SHOULD be legit.

I also shouldn't have to ask to be taken off of his SPAM list. The stuff he's sending out now has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with garage floors, it's all MLM/Pyramid scheme BS.

Deleting the SPAM emails is not that hard for me to do, in this case it's 100% the principle of the whole thing that irks the hell out of me.

ok. ok...

I did not mean to take this off subject, I was just asking a simple question.

I even registered HERE with a throw away e-mail and changed it later to my real e-mail, even my bank got a throw away e-mail at first, its super easy to do and it keeps the spam down so to me that was a obvious question. But ok ok I got the hint...now back the BAN subject please

Yeah, I can too.

And in the end, it doesn't really matter to me if he gets "banned" or not.

I mostly just wanted to see if anyone else got the same emails from him, and what people thought about it. I think it's fine if he wants to hit up some of his contacts for another one of his business "opportunities", but what I don't like is that he SPECIFICALLY promised that I would not receive and SPAM if I registered for his contest.

Yet another vote. Dammit!!

I was a fool to enter that stupid contest that A-Hole put up. I have gotten 2 emails in the last week.

He has not been a good member. Bashing others products and even in threads where people are showing off their work.

He was very clear that we would not be spammed. Man I am an idiot.

BAN HIM.

He should have been banned a long time ago. A while back he PM-spammed many of us. I reported it, but apparently the mods/admins decided not to ban him.

I cannot believe that you guys would give him your contact info! Was it in response to his mass-PMs?

He spammed me too.

Quote from his give-away thread:

"YOU WILL NOT GET SPAMMED BY ME."

He never said that he wouldn't sell your email address so someone else could spam you. Best way to stop him is to noify your IP company, and they will ban his IP address. Once that happens, it is extremely difficult to get the IP ban lifted. It will also effect a lot of others on the same server, so that will really p*ss off the server company. The alternative is to figure out who is his server company, and notify them. They don't like spam either.

Does adding the sender to junk email list work? That usually works pretty well for me. Yes, I get the email, but not in my inbox. Would this work here?

People don't learn. Nothing in this life is free. He came from know where pumping some unheard of **** and he had most of you guys panting and salivating at the chance to win it. Was I the only guy to smell something funny. The guy is an obvious fraud. Did you really think some nobody working out of his basement had the holy grail of garage floors for the regular joe. Common, wake the hell up. Take this as a learning lesson in the future. As they say, if its too good to be true, then it must be ********.

Just one look of his cheesy *** site should of gave you guys a clue! Holy ****, having an old lady that can barely see 5 ft in front of her, being interviewed a day after the floor was installed. What a joke.

This guy seems like he would sell anything to anyone. He probably doesn't even have a physical address.

BTW, there is no reason to ban him. Since his "Amazing Giveaway", he hasnt made an effort to post again. Why should he, he got what he needed. Your email addresses. Suckers.

It appears thegarageguy is an a-hole as well.

Is it just me or does the "professional garage floor installer" industry attract some real losers with bad attitudes.

I see none of us as suckers for entering a contest that appeared to be sanctioned by GarageForum.

He just appears to be a slimy contractor who spends his time on here bad mouthing us for whatever reason.

His opinions and "facts" are now worthless. Might as well be hawking cat turds in a bag.

I wouldn't normally jump in on something like this. But man! Talk about no class with a post! I don't know what your products or work is like, but your people skills could use some work.

Hehe, sorry about that. As long as I know I am getting quality cat turds in said bag, I am happy.

I am thinking that said garageguy might try and sell me cat turds as a great floor covering.

The ones who are directly insulted by my comments should thicken your skin a bit. I guess sarcasm doesnt translate well in posts. But truly, deep down inside you all know you have been suckered. That doesn't make you a bad person. I just hope you guys learn from this experience. You all know this guy came from no where, we tried to warn you and you guys still bit hard.

This is the biggest problem with this industry, there are so many ******** products out there claiming to be the ole mighty savior to the regular joe or DIYer. You people need to understand that there is no short cut for quality and workmanship.

Maybe I did come out a bit harsh but when I read this post, the only thing pictured in my mind was a bunch of people in front of their computers with lolipop heads like the old bugs bunny cartoons.

And for Shocker, you managed to personally insult me 3 times in one post. This should be grounds for banning you. But I know that you are a frustrated guy who got taken advantage from this fly by night snake oil salemen and you are looking for a punching bag. I forgive you.

For anyone else who bought into this guys **** and I offended you, It wasn't really my intention and for that I am sorry. I should know better to kick someone while they're down.

Yes, I am annoyed by the spam. But I am just as annoyed by you coming in and essentially calling all of us who entered the contest stupid for doing so. Who needs that kind of feedback. I know now it was a mistake, but should I now look at all promo's/contests that come from GarageJournal as bad?

You, as a direct competitor in the flooring industry, can't be thought of as objective. You have your products, others have theirs. That is understandable as you are trying to make a buck, just like the others. I just don't like being told I am a ***** and sucker.

As for my comments, they were no more personal than yours. My frustration in this matter is not about what the contest guy did, but rather at you and your comments.

If I get banned for poking you back, so be it.

*** I had to edit this post because I wrote nice things about GarageGuy because I mistook him for FloorGuy... whoops...

I know what GarageGuy is trying to say... Many people come here and are looking for the Holy Grail of floor coatings. They want something that can be applied in 5 minutes, will last 50 years, and costs a $0.05 per square foot. GarageGuy accurately put it right that many people are looking for that 'short cut'.

Is it just me or does the "professional garage floor installer" industry attract some real losers with bad attitudes.
We sell to some pretty interesting guys. All of them are pretty cool. We are pretty choosy on who we sell to. It's no secret that we respectfully declined to sell to mlynch (since he posted it on here). But, it's just like anything else... there are good guys and then there are jerks... lol...
