MOTO Floor clickity clack?

I just ordered my MOTO tiles from costco.com.

I read somewhere that they make a cliclity clack sound when walked upon. Should I put something under them?

How much was shipping? What colors did you get?

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on these myself. I had heard that you could only get gray or white/black but I saw red and blue on the website too.

I was also wondering about the landscape felt under the tiles. Sounds like plenty of people have done it, but the Racedeck guys may have some concerns about the drainage under the tiles with the felt.

All polypropolene type or hard plastic interlocking tiles will have a clankity clank sound associated with it. Just wait until winter, it will be louder. A pvc type interlocking floor tile would eliminate the clankity sound.

I think there are a few posts about this on the site. First, you are right, every floor has their own unique sound. You can use landscape felt if you like, it will still allow proper drainage.
I really do not want to put down any other type of flooring, but it should be known that we ( Snap Lock Industries http://www.snaplock.com the manufacturer of RaceDeck, also manufacture vinyl tile for other applications, but would never use this material for garage use. There are many reasons from expansion and contractions to buckling under roll loads the odor and so on ) for some people these reasons are not a concern and prefer this type of product, for us it is not worth the customer service issues that would follow.

With all due respect RaceDeck, there are companies out there that do manufacture and sell pvc type interlocking floors. I will not mention any names but they have been used and I have installed them for years in many commercial settings such as car washes and lube centers with much success. So I think a residential garage would be no problem.

You are right, there are many brands of vinyl flooring sold for garages in the US, though only a few mfg's who supply these brands ( 1 china, 1 canada , ? china)

I am sure on this forum there are many who believe in their chosen floor option for reasons that are important to them ( paint, epoxy, granite stone, carpet, mats, peel n stick, etc). There is no tile that is perfect in every way for every one.

my post was more why our company, who manufactures vinyl tiles for other industries, made a decision not to manufacture a vinyl tile for the residential garage industry. believe me we looked at it and tested various styles, designs and materials and 'for us' it was a no go.

What ever floor someone chooses, the end result should be they have a huge smile on their face when the garage door opens....I know " my garage makes me happy"

You're right. You get used to it very quickly to where you don't even notice it. Just thought I would point out that it isn't just moto floor makes that noise. It is all the modular flooring that makes the noise.
