I have a Howard ac motor. # 5083-04202-186
Data plate says:
type- rk5
fr- m56
hp 2
A-11.0
thermally protected- sk
Ins-3x
Amb-40c
Time-cont
Ser-ade1k
V-230
Gf-1.0
Ph-1
Hz-60
Code-L
Rpm-3450
comp rated hp
The problem is, as you can see the data plate says 230v, BUT, there is a 110v ac plug on the end of the wire.
There are 2 lugs inside the wire compartment- L1 and L2. I have had it plugged in and it runs.
Oh yea on the bottom of the data plate it says: conn grnd side of line to L2, connect the grnd to lug in term housing.
As I remember the ground side of line indicates to me 110v.
This motor is on an old Sears Best compressor that does not have the model # on the sticker anymore.
It needs repair. Metal tag on tank says made by Devilbiss in 1979. Mfgs # 00008414.
It is not a roll around.
Well as soon as I can I will post a picture, so that I can get some help repairing.
Thanks
