For the most part I haven't had a problem squeezing the rings with my fingers and guiding the the cyl down, but sometimes I have had a hard time on some later bikes. They don't have much of a chamfer on the bottom of the cyl and it is hard to squeeze the rings enough with my fingers. I'm tired of using pvc pipe with a cut in it or hose clamps. I was looking on Amazon and see several type style like this. Anybody have a recommendation? Of course any ones I looked at had no reviews so....

After spending what I remember was too much on the factory piece I just make my own as needed. If you have access to a lathe it's pretty easy. For bikes I still have my old adjustable glorified miniature oil filter ones.

Btw for reference. I bore it to size, then slice it with a .062 width slitting saw. I found squeezing it it too much gets it out of shape. I had another for a 3.70 bore I made where I took out a 1/4" and loaned it to a buddy, when I got it back it went right into the round file.

Use a piece of aluminum flashing and a hose clamp.

If you double wrap it and put a small bend on the bottom of the outside wrap it wont slide into the cylinder as easy.
