When I got my 83 Gold Wing I needed to do what the OP wants to do. Couple of cautions come to mind....check the slope of your garage floor...if I wasn't careful the bike and dolly would roll down the minor slope of my gargage floor. Next look at the condition of your floor, steel rollers or casters can take a load but don't like to roll on anything but a smooth surface. Lastly, once lifted a touring bike has a lot of weight and not a lot of pushing spots. After I sold the 83 I replaced it with a GL1800 that also had to be lifted and placed. Also in my experience you want to get the bike as close as possible to its parking spot, perferably parallel, lift, move the least amount of distance and place the bike back down. I marked the floor as I ended up having less than an inch clearance on the back end.
For the 83 I modified a car floor jack with a piece that cradled the bttom of the engine and lifted on the center stand which I had in the down position to lift and move.
For the 1800 I modified a bike lift by putting on different casters than the metal ones, widening the stance of the lift to put the casters further outboard and making a lifting plate specific to the bike.
