I'm slowly starting on my garage build. I currently have one bike that I go to the track with, and the small pit bike to get around the paddock.
Flooring: I put down Tractor Supply Store 3/4" mats, it's a lot easier on the knees
Tool Cabinet: I will be picking up a 56" Harbor Freight Tool Chest today. I was going to go with (2) 44", but since the 56 is a little beefier and the drawers are deeper. I like the look of the (2) 44", but I can't pass up the 56".
Lighting: I upgraded the lights to 4 ft. LED lighting I picked up from Lowes. I plan to put some lighting underneath the cabinets when they go up. What should I go with, an outlet plug for the lights? I only have one outlet in the center, and I have one on the right wall.
Sink: I will be adding a bar sink on the right in a full wall countertop, I just want to be able to wash my hands without having to constantly go into the house.
Cabinets: I plan to get unfinished cabinets at Lowes and stain them. How high would you put them? I was thinking of going 5 feet from the bottom of the cabinet, I will see what works best so I can have some storage space up above. The height of the ceiling where the cabinets will be going is 9 feet. The only thing I can see purchasing down the road is a drill press. I also plan to put a compressor underneath the countertop.
Countertop: What would you recommend? I was going to go with a Laminate countertop, but I also looked at Butcher Blocks and Stainless Steel. I like the idea of the stainless steel from what I read on the forum, but I'm not sure where I can find one. I'm located in Houston, TX.
Here are my plans, I tried to draw everything as best to scale, the conversions may be off slightly, let me know what you think. Feel free to include something you think I should be doing/not doing.
