These Garages all have serious "Drool Factor", but your collection hold true my heart. The Hondas were two fun bikes I rode as a kid & the Husky was what a brother of mine rode. He restores bikes also Huskys are his number one bikes. He has two number plates signed Mikola.
Cool! I'm still getting the shop (and next year the house) done, but after that I'm going full bore on 70's MX bike resto's. I might get a chance this winter to get the '79 husky done. I just got the seat cover from a guy in Australia. $160. It came in a bag and I opened it with a knife. 2" slice right down the side of the cover!..... Heres a link to my buddy's website.. http://twostrokemotocross.com/

lol, most people relate the desmo to a Ducati, especially with the release of the desmosidici, and when you see a bike with a single swingarm, marchesinis and brembo combo, Ducati comes to mind, only because in North America, MV's, Aprilia and Bimota are about as rare as the black plague. But yes, I know very well where the desmo name originates.

Autoist,

What do you think about the sheet metal on the interior walls of your shop? Would you do that again?

Thanks,

my fathers shop is sheetmetal inside....it looks nice, but... the metal ***** the heat righ out of the building. its AlWAYS cold in there. the building is fully insulated and has two heaters that are more than enough to heat the place. The noise and echo inside is terrible. Its always loud as hell. He said he'd never do it again. I can't blame him

Don't forget the Honda RC30 that beat the Ducati to market by about 4 years in the U.S. they had single sided swingarms also, very rare bike though.

FYI My personal favorite Ducati is the Hypermotard, it is just built to roost. I might have to ad one someday.

I had a deposit on one. I love the way it looks. But after riding it I felt it was to small and the riding position was to race oriented. You sit over the front wheel. I went with a KTM 950 supermoto. Something to consider.

Not really a garage, but a humble workspace for my bikes in my basement. Making due with this until I hit the lottery!

That looks like a first year aprilia mille in the first pic? In the blue and red? I had one as well, wish I'd kept mine. Still have a tuono tho and a duc streetfighter.

You are correct! It's an early 2000 model. One of the first ones delivered to my dealer way back when. Its getting long in the tooth, but its still a fantastic bike!

As usual, some very cool bikes and bike garages here.
Mine is not a bike garage per se, but it's where I keep them:

That is a Ranger RML 750 HD

They currently sell for $1,090 but well worth it. It comes with the side extensions and the two metal poles that are useful for holding up the back of the bike - like in my pic. Also it has retractable casters so you can move the lift around while it is loaded:

Another thing I like about it - it has a frame that sits on the ground and doesn't move. Most of the lift tables use a scissor type action and the bottom supports get closer together when the lift goes up. I have no problem getting up on the table with the bike and working on it - it is very stable. I think the shipping weight is around 700lbs!

Thanks for the info. We have a Direct Lift Pro Cycle XLT DT we got from Greg Smith Equipment. It lifts like you described. I like how yours has the casters on it. I'm going to eventually get another one and I'd like to have one like you have.

I can't say enough good things about this lift table. Again, the initial cost may be high, but when you add up the extras that are included in the price, the 1650 lb capacity, etc, it is a great value.

Also, Ranger is a division of BendPak and their customer service is unbelievable. I had some minor issues but BendPak bent over backwards and made it right!

Ckgdrums, no problem with copying the orange and black tiles. You can get a great deal on the GarageTrac tiles at bigfloors.com. They are made in the USA by the RaceDeck company. Enjoy.

Thanks! Already ordered them... Less than $400 for my space w/free shipping included. Great deal.

I haven't been back to this thread for a while - there is both an RC30 and an Aprilia Mille R in the original photo.

When the RC30 was new I had a guy ask me at a gas station what held the back wheel on.

Is that a homemade bike stand on the wall next to the foam kawasaki finger?

Got any pics or plans?

No, not homemade. It's an old Holeshot Performance stand. I've since given it away as I had too many front stands kicking around. I'd recommend a Pitbull stand if you're looking to purchase one.

Yup. I own five (!!!) rear stands and two fronts. Pit Bulls are by far the best I own. Even the way they came carefully wrapped up inside the boxes showed a lot of pride in craftsmanship.

That one will be a gen/kicker shovel cause I cant afford a Panhead. Slight frisco style. Have not even thought about the paint yet.

I hear you! I have looked at several Pans but the only way I am going to afford it or at least talk the misses into it is to sell the Fatboy and that is not happening...lol
