There are some awesome bike garages here! Mine is a work in progress and this is the only pic I have for now.

To all of you UK guys - when we were visiting Scotland a few years ago I noticed that no one had big garages, even in small towns that seemed to have plenty of room on residential tracts. Do taxes discourage bigger outbuildings?

There isn't any tax on garages per se. Property tax is based on the value of the property as a whole I doubt the assessors pay much attention to garage size. I guess the main reason is you will add value to a house in the UK by adding an extension to the house but a big garage won't add much to the value. The other reason would be objection from planning departments to anything big in front of a building line and a 50% of garden limit to building anything under permitted development (a way of building sheds and out buildings without formal permission). You will find plenty of gardens with lots of little sheds though!

My garage was getting a bit overcrowded , so i enlarged it a bit . put the new poles in cement beforehand . moved all the toys out . then on the day put the new framework up and roof and sides . now i have repacked a bit . much less crowded and space to work in the middle .

Do I see two Grom's in there? Awesome!
When they were first going for a premium well over MSRP, the wife said to wait it out and buy two. ...I should probably start looking into that again.

The market is flooded now, or rather everyone lost interest. We got the last one here last October, was going to buy another but when they didn't show up by May I lost interest, I'm buying a ninja 300 now.

The grom is awesome but not quite powerful enough.

Blasphemy! We had a hoot supermoto'ing TTR125L's. Some thing - only street legal! We were gonna get a his and hers ...and possibly capes. Not to mention, as HMEN shows above, mini-moto racing!

YouTube: Gromkhana: The Grom Escape

Edit: For the money dealers were originally asking it just made sense to wait and use the same money to buy two.

Some of you may recognize me as owner of THE ASYLUM, but my other garage truly qualifies as a "Motorcycles Only" garage. Currently the wife has 3 of her 5 parked in there and 2 of my 5 are there. The cages are banned to the driveway!

P.S. Since I'm trying to keep my identity somewhat anonymous, if you happen to recognize my places as local to you, PM me rather than posting something like "Are you the guy down the block on Elm Street? It just gives away too much information to the predators.
Maybe we can hook up and drink a beer [emoji481]
Rz350. Lucky! (I know this post is half a decade old and I don't care).

With B-trains passing me on the hills, I'll stick with my assessment of it being underpowered. It's awesome in town but if it can't hold freeway speed up the hills I can't commute on it.

I'll have to get an updated picture of the motorcycle area in The Jalopy Barn (seen in my avatar). I'll be adding a 1959 Ducati 125 sport to the ranks soon.

Portland - the cool one.
I'm surprised to see that I've not posted in this thread since it's one I check in on. Perhaps I was waiting until I was finished - which would be never - that was the reason for the oversight. Well, as my build thread stretches into it's second year the garage is now working and I've gotten the chance to do some bike work. The bike that started the obsession - my boxer cafe:

It's funny as I alway imagined a garage that was spare and minimal but of course I couldn't possibly have that since my space is so limited and my tools so plentiful. Still, I'm going to keep working on condensing so that there's more room to build but here's the rest of the residents.

The new addition to the garage is the Ducati 900SS which will get a single sided swingarm and Ohlins front end eventually:

The Guzzi build which is going to get modern suspension:

The two wheel drive KTM 990 Adventure which is basically done:

And the Rickman Triumph is dusty, neglected and appreciating. I hope to appreciate it with some engine mounting plates and get it on the road soon. That's about all it needs, and an ignition, and clipons and... well, a few other things.

And that is my addition to the thread. Maybe in a year or so I can revisit it with an update.

Nice bikes and setup. Let's see more of the front of the garage/workshop, like machines/equipment. I see a lathe buried up front there and either a drill press or mill/drill, I can't tell.:rocker:

My new project. An ex-police bike that I got at auction. The wiring has been an absolute nightmare as when they decommission the bike, they literally just cut wires and remove equipment. I had hot wires grounding out and wires that went no where, wires that should go somewhere.... been thinking of starting its own thread but not sure what area to throw it into. But here it is, next to my red Street Glide.
