Permanent residents as of this writing are a 1998 VTR1000F Super Hawk, 2007 Ninja 650R, 1984 RZ350, 2003 RM250, 2009 CRF230F, 2005 DRZ485 SuperMoto.
Temporary residents are various bikes my customers and friends bring me to build, repair, design, modify.

Nice shop and nice collection of bikes. Just out of curiosity, how big is your shop?

I notice you have a Smithy 3-in-1 machine there. I used to have the older style, the Smithy CB1239 and just sold it about a year ago. I had it for 16+ years and made a LOT of one off parts for not only our bikes, quads and race cars but also made quite a bit of money with it doing customer work. They catch a bad rap from some people but I did quite a few parts with mine before upgrading/upsizing.

Main garage is 22x25'
Then outside I have two wired and lighted sheds
One is the cleaning room... Abrasive blast cabinet and parts washer
The other shed is a clean(ER) room for engine assembly, filtered air in positive pressure fills the room to keep most dust and debris out.
It's not really a "clean room" but it does a pretty good job and keeps dust, dirt, blast media and grinding dust out of motors.

The smithy is a 1220 ltd upgraded with QR tool post, DRO, indexable tooling, multiple lights ext. and yes it does pretty well at turning out parts and pieces for folks besides myself.

Mines got a motorcycle in it. Also got five 4wheelers in the corner stacked on racks just left of the picture. Getting ready to move to our new house and 30x40 detached so I haven't bothered to organize anything. This weekend is hitting nearly 60 so I'm going riding.

First post .

I'm a tradesman , ticketed in more than one trade ........... I'm old

This garage was here when I bought this house , the inside was bare and un heated .

It has been insulated , drywalled , painted and an overhead unit heater installed to enable work to happen in my spare time , year round .

That was 15 years ago.

Here's my workshop , sort of a hobbies gone wild theme , where ideas come to life. There's nothing fancy , no tiled floor , no designer paint scheme or matching cabinets. What there is here is , projects involving welding , machining , cylinder head work , differentials being overhauled , gear swaps , motorcycles being built and repaired.

I would take your garage over the "matching cabinets" garage any day.

Well I got one of the pictures on it's side, don't know how to fix it so you'll just have to look at it sideways.

I'll tell you the truth, it's the single best thing I've ever done to my garage.

Since I started my shop project last fall I am finally ready to pit set my lift too. I have the concrete cutters quote and waiting for the budget to do it. It was very reasonable since I got the friend of the family special... I am hoping to start in a week or two myself.

Very nicely done.

I have thought several times about doing this but I change the angle and placement of my two motorcycle lifts from time to time depending on what else I may have going on in the shop. Otherwise I probably would have already done something similar.

That's a really nice SOHC, bet it's a blast to ride, well done. I got down to 1 bike a few years ago and that was a good thing for me. At one time I would have 2 or 3 of my own and maybe a buddies that we were working on, got where you couldn't move in there. Now riding is the priority and ya can't leave your bike here. I wont work on a bike that isn't mine and don't want to do anything other than normal maintenance on mine during riding season which is about 8 months here. That leaves 4 months to play with it. It's all about the ride.

Yeah this was just weeks after they left. And a good clue as to the SRADkneedragger forum name.

Nice Jeff! I like your rim tape and I'm jealous of your HB bars! I can't fit those on with my adventure tanks unfortunately

I spent some time out there this evening trying to find out why my heated grips have stopped working (again)

Thank you sir...
I looked high and low for the older Hepco bars but I really like the extra range of larger tanks too so you are ahead of my bike in that dept.
I'm not positive but I believe that trim tape has changed a bet over the years.
Got a set for my son's race bike and liked it so much decided to add a little Orange tho my wheelset.

Not good when your heated grips give out when needed. I've used mine a good many times.

Take care and ride safe.

At the altitude I live at.. Heated grips are used almost every ride :D

As much as I miss my crash bars I could never go back from my extra fuel tanks. The 400+ mile range really does allow me to explore places I couldn't otherwise.

Those hepcobars have become rare - not sure why they stopped making them?
