I just got the metric Mountain set.
Does anyone know if these wrenches have a straight through pin in the hinge? Bought a set on eBay and the 18mm seems to be missing the pin on one side.

Tried hammering the pin out with a punch to no avail and the design almost looks like a short pin goes in on either side but not all the way through. Tossed the package out before noticing, may have just come that way though. No sign of any pin pieces on my shop floor.

Bought used so warranty isn’t really an option.

Any help is much appreciated!

The real insult to injury is that I just found out the Carlyles were on sale last month. Carlyle seems like a no brainer for warranties since Napa’s are all over.

Looks like no one knows how these things are built?
Can anyone advise on how to pull the remaining pin out seeing as a hammer and punch don’t work?

I’d rather not drill it and completely ruin the thing

No idea I don’t have those wrenches. But I’m following this thread because these wrenches are on my want list

I’ll try pulling the pin from the good side. Might drill a small hole then tap it and pull the pin with a screw/bolt. As much as I hate to damage the original part only to fix it with subpar hardware store parts, it looks like that’s my best option.

Outside of McMaster Carr no one seems to ever have the right part/fitting/size etc
