Tooltopia has these for sale until July 7th. This set has quite some useful features including long pattern, flex head, reversible switch, and spline. It's re-branded under a few other names. And the price hits the $120-150 mark from time to time. A few months ago, a Carlyle branded set was on sale for $115.

I like my set from a different brand, and the general catch is several brands have sold this set, and then stopped.

Not sure about the cancer, however the reproductive issues are due to the fact the wrenches are unable to remove the hardware that is needed for reproduction.

Why does California think they cause cancer?
Anything chrome will have that message. Heck anything auto related at this point. They wouldn't ship me head gaskets the other day because of this so I had to ship them to my relative in TX and get them sent here. Yeah I'm moving, soon.

Never heard of such a thing and I live in California.

The stupid warning stickers are required for a bunch of stuff sold in California, and if the manufacturer doesn't comply with the labeling requirements, they cannot sell or ship to California.
This is part of the reason we are all seeing these dumb tags on EVERYTHING in the rest of the US. Its easier for larger companies to sticker an entire batch of stuff rather than sticker items as they ship to California, or accidentally ship something that is not stickered.
Or else there are known chemical compounds in the head gaskets that they have determined cannot be shipped to CA. Were the gaskets copper, by chance? I know many "green" states are getting picky about copper content in auto parts, mostly brake pads so far....

Time to ban pennies then.

Our legislation is full of idiots. Good intentions but laws written by idiots with ZERO common sense.

Certain items ARE known to cause cancer. However, if you don't have a sticker, then that means it doesn't. We know almost everything does in large enough doses so then everything needs a label so it becomes meaningless. Otherwise you leave the door open to be sued for not labeling something that causes cancer.

Please, just kill the entire government in CA, as they are out of control.

How does one warranty a defective mountain wrench? I

Good luck, tooltopia won't be of any use unless maybe if you contact them and ask them to direct you "to the manufacturer's warranty/repair center or customer service center". I'd do so before purchasing in this case.

I've never been able to find a website for Mountain hand tools. Some have been able to warranty them with the local tool truck dealer they bought from.

https://www.tooltopia.com/frequently-asked-questions.aspx#returns
  • All products sold by ToolTopia.com are covered by the manufacturer's warranty repair/replacement policies only.
  • Please see the Manufacturer Contacts page for information on contacting the manufacturer.
  • We will be happy to help our customers with their warranty repairs by directing them to the manufacturer's warranty/repair center or customer service center.
