Okay... I sat on my haunches too long thinking of how to cut the Aluminum Diamond Plate and just took it back to the Steel Supply shop and had them shear it and got my Coke Machine pieces at the same time...

That looks great!!!! I like the diamond plate idea and may have to use that. I haven't gotten my phone mounted yet and still need to see the locksmith to get a key. Been too busy doing other things. I may have to do that this weekend though so I can get it off of the bench.

In addition to the key shown by USMCBay...there are other keys needed. I bought new locks on line, as those key blanks apparently are not available.

I have a Canada Bell dial pay phone in my game room. Using epoxy glue, I put a dime in the coin return chute and sit back a watch people try to be cool as they check it out and try to take the dime!

USMCBay,

I like that phone and how you have painted her.

I have one I want to mount to the wall but need help. I do not have keys either and wonder can you mount it without access to inside. Mine was already converted to free dial.

Very nice looking phone. First time I have seen one that has been restored. Awesome work. Could also be Simplicity orange.

I had to take the heavy Bast*** to Lowes to find the right Fine Thread bolts. There are two threaded holes equal in height/location at the top of the rear of the phone the lower two are in odd locations so it took a lot of math to get the holes right in the Diamond Plate - and even then I had to bore out the holes because my drill bit walked on one hole... :headscrat All that being said - look at the back for the threaded holes and go find the corresponding bolts. Then I used 85lb Wall Anchors to mount the Diamond Plate WITH the phone already on. Don't forget the hole for the line out... I used a graduating cone bit for that. Anymore questions let me know... I can get SOME photos. With the wall anchors in place I can't remove it fully without loosing my $12 in anchors...

I want to see some pics of the coke machine.

Here are some progression photos on the Coke Machine... I now have the body primed and ready to be painted Harley Davidson theme... I still need to prime the door and paint it all. Then I'll Diamond Plate the Coin Slot area - I just had the pieces cut and will have to have a vacuum put on the Compressor and fix a leak and paint that all standard black... Now that I have a lot of my other projects finished I can focus on this once again. The biggest challenge will be replacing all of the nuts and bolts with new and then remembering where they go... I've done some already - In addition to the LED Lights in the Bottle Trays I will have an Aah-ooga horn inside which will sound every time you pull a bottle out and a Police light will spin on top...

Also that is a nice looking unit... I always like the square top units from the 60's and 70's. I can't wait to see it finished.

Many thanks USMCBay,

This will give me a great start on getting that heavy thing up on the wall where it belongs. I need to get her down from the attic as I do not have a shop phone currently.

Keep us posted on the progress of that cool "Harley" Coke machine.

Roger that... will do. After a long day of "exterior illumination" (Chevy Chase) a stogy and beer seem to be the order of the night. However, I did run across a new-found nest of Nuts and Bolts so it was on my mind just for notes!!!
