hi all,
I am in the middle of building my new home shop and got the roller door installed with the Liftmaster MJ5011U opener. I got a MyQ wifi smart opener so I can manage it with my phone when needed like our house garage.
The MyQ opener is really designed for traditional panel garage doors and not roller doors and comes with a door open/close sensor that you are supposed to mount on a panel door, so when the panel door is in the open position the sensor will be horizontal and when the garage door is closed the sensor will be vertical.
Since my door is a roller door I can't mount int in that way.
I considered mounting it to the door shaft but that doesn't turn the drum does..
I've considered 3d printing some fancy cantilvered mount so when the door is open the sensor mounted to a plate will pivot horizontally when it hits a pin on the frame/stops and then once closed it will pivot back to vertical. BUT before I go inventing something I figured I'd ask if anyone has this figured out already
