mounting a snap on top box

I just picked up my first snapon boxes and have a question about mounting the top box on the roll chests. I read that some snapon top boxes come with 1/4 x 20 x 5/8 bolts for the purpose of attaching it to the roll chests. Is this the common thread size for all chests? I have a kra4107 and kra4114

When I bought the same combo, the top box came with bolts to mount it. There are thread sets in the bottom runners on the top box.

Yeah, i got that. Thanks. I was looking for info on what the thread size was. Went through just about every machine screw and bolt i have, not that I have a huge selection.

1/4"x20 is a common as there gets bolt size.

I have the same combo 4114/4107, didn't know about the threaded holes for bolts, mine just sits on top

I have 4 top/bottom box setups, one with intermediate box that is over 6' tall, none of which are bolted down. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I have seen Snap-on top chests with the ball bearing slides tip over. If you pull out 2 drawers at once and then don't push them all the way back in,they can slowly work out.

Bolting the top chest down adds a little bit of safety.

I have all my top and bottom Snap-On boxes bolted together. They all use a 1/4 x 20 bolt. I used fender washers for added safety
