Mounting Air Compressor Outside Shop

I am in the process of trying to 'retrieve' some floorspace in my shop while purchasing a new compressor (larger than what I have now). The main thing I want to do is move the compressor outside.

Any recommendations to mounting a compressor outside a shop (mounting, insulating, etc)? The majority of the compressors that I see are mounted inside. After searching around the board, I will be using black pipe for air lines in the shop.

If its a recip compressor then just a regular room with moderate insulation is fine. Just check the oil every once in a while to make sure you havent developed water in it. However, NEVER use black pipe. It rots and rusts inside and will be a headache in the years to come. Go with copper pipe or even better yet go with Infinity Aluminum (http://infinitypiping.com/Infinity.html) We use this to install everything from 5HP to 300HP + compressors and its great. 10 year warranty on the fittings and a 5 year old can put it together. Black pipe is old school and trust me when I say it will be nothing but a headache. The company I work for is a Certified Infinity dealer and its the best stuff out there.

Yes I do. I began my career working for a Sullair distributor back in the early 90's and after about 7 years I left to work for the CompAir and Palatek distributors. Im now working for the Sullair distributors again.
