I bought an Ingersoll Rand SS5L5 from tractor supply this past winter. During the cold months I left it on the pallet and used it that way. Well I am ready to put it on a slab. My question is how? How do you get this big top heavy thing off of the pallet and on to a concrete slab? I’m going to use Quikrete and pour a 2’x2’ slab just outside my shop. I have a tractor with a front end loader. I thought about using ratchet straps and strapping it to the bucket. Will this work? How have all of you done this?

It can't be that heavy?!

I just moved my 60 gal compressor into my shed, me and a friend without much trouble... and have a bad back. I'd guess it weighs at most 250-300lbs. Before I messed up my back I carried it from my driveway to the wood line by myself, that's about 350-400ft distance.

I took it off pallet by unbolting and walking it off the pallet and then walked it onto some hockey pucks.

This one weighs in at 310 pounds. With most of the weight at the top its not the sort of thing I want to do if I don't have to. I have a front end loader so it sounds kinda stupid not using it. Im just not sure about the best way to go about it.

Using fel makes sense, my point was it's not all that heavy and it's farily robust. No need to overthink it is all. Moving mine last week just cost me a phone call and 2 beers.

I used my engine hoist and a 2" wide ratchet strap that I use to strap my truck on the trailer. I have the same compressor. Using the strap... I ran it under the motor/compressor plate, and used the hooks on the straps and hooked that onto the hoist. Should be able to do something similar with your FEL
