Mounting Compresor Off Ceiling

I been kicking this idea around for awhile. Mounting air compresor off ceiling. It's small unit. Space getting tight. Anyone do this. I think attic work get too hot summer and freeze in winter.

Quite a few people have done it, do a search. I guess it would depend on where you live with regards to heat and cold.... in NC I wouldn't because of summer heat.

For me it would depend on how much it was to run, constant vibration will tend to shake building apart. I would want it on a cement floor unless it was pint sized and for occasional use.

I have seen where someone made an enclosed workbench to house and kill the sound of the compressor.

one option I like is to buy (or build) a heavy duty shelf and mount it to the top of the shelf.

a friend that had a 1 car garage with open attic are put his up in the open attic area to get it out of the way. used some thick rubber mounts to isolate it
